Our Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
The Society upholds the fundamental truths of Christianity including:
(a) The unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead.
(b) The sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement.
(c) The divine inspiration and entire trustworthiness of Holy Scripture, as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
(d) The universal sinfulness and guilt of all men since the fall, rendering them subject to God’s wrath and condemnation
(e) Redemption from the guilt, penalty dominion and pollution of sin, solely through the sacrificial death (as our Representative and Substitute) of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
(f) The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead and His ascension to the right hand of God the Father.
(g) The presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
(h) The justification of the sinner by the grace of God through faith alone.
(i) The one Holy Universal Church which is the Body of Christ and to which all true believers belong.
(j) The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit in the believer.
(k) The expectation of the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

but let us encourage one another—
and all the more as you see the Day approaching

S.U.Per: Students United in Persevering in Christ!
Every Tuesday at 7.15pm, we gather corporately at our “S.U.Per Tuesday” meetings. This is a time when as a body of Christ we declare the gospel in our singing, prayer and bring encouragement to each other. We also hear the Word of God preached to us by our Staff Worker.
We usually meet at School of Business CR 2.1. The venue may change, so do keep a look out for our weekly emailers to know where we are!
(To join our mailing list, email us at smucf@sa.smu.edu.sg)
Bible Study
We hold Bible Studies every Tuesday to gain a deeper understanding of what God has to say to us through the bible. There are bible study slots at 1pm and 5pm.
This coming semester, we’ll be going through the Book of John.
To join a bible study group, email us at smucf@sa.smu.edu.sg, or pop by our S.U.Per Tuesday meetings and indicate your interest to join a group
April and December Bible Retreat
Every year, the entire CF will be off to a camp (somewhere in Singapore) where we spend time getting to know each other better (especially over suppers. Wonderful wonderful suppers.)
It is also an opportune time to learn more about our faith and to be grounded in God’s Word. Each year, we invite a speaker down to preach during the camp. Past sermon themes include “The Holy Spirit”, “Evangelism and the book of Jonah”, “Sin” and “How to be a fool”.
(Wait up for some picture updates!)
Freshman Orientation Camp
Every July, we’ll hold a Freshman Orientation Camp (FOC) for freshman who would like to see what SMUCF is all about and/or to make friends with fellow believers to keep each other grounded in God’s Word.
There will be fun, games, bible studies and nightly suppers. Each camp there will be a theme which the talks and bible studies will revolve around.
(Senior batches and alumni are very welcome to join us too, we’d love to have you around)
(Wait up for some picture updates!)
Summer Bible Studies
We have bible studies twice a week in the evenings amidst internships and vacations. There are two bible study tracks taking place concurrently during summer.
| Mark | Romans |
Tuesday 7.30pm | Chapters 1-8 | Chapters 1-8 |
Thursday 7.30pm | Chapters 9-16 | Chapters 9-16 |
For those who would like to investigate the claims that Jesus makes of Himself and the reason for our insistence on the truthfulness of Christianity, then you would like to come for our Summer Bible Studies on the book of Mark.
The book of Romans has the most comprehensive systematic statement of the Christian faith in the bible. The study provides an opportunity to learn how to do an inductive bible study
